MALARIA PREVENTION AND HEALTH EDUCATION
Understanding malaria.
Malaria is a disease found mostly in the sub-saharan africa,this disease is caused by parasite called plasmodium which is carried by a mosquitoe. When an infected anopheles mosquitoe bites a person,it injects the parasite, which travels to the liver,matures,travel back to the blood stream,enters the red blood cells(RBC),multiplys causing the RBC to burst an realises the parasite which enters the healthy cells and the cycle continues.

Causes and prevention.
- The myth about cold water,chewing of maize stack or even flowering of maize causing malaria is not valied. To reduce the mortality rate in area affected,we should be aware of those things that promote the spread of malaria. The population living in areas affected most by malaria should be given the right health education, some of this measures are:
- Clear all emty containers and rubbish around the homestead. The containers tend to hold water in rainy days and mosquitoes breed on stagnant water also those rubbish attracts mosquitoes for them to hide in.
- Drain all stagnant water around the home.
- Clear bushes, mosquitoes hide in them.
- Sleep inside a treated mosquitoe net
- Use mosquitoe repellants.
- Use insecticide spray to spray the house.
- If you are sick and tested,ensure to complete your dose
